Guides for peptide research buyers

How peptide testing works, how to read a certificate of analysis, and how to compare wholesale suppliers. Each guide opens with the short answer.

Testing and quality

How peptide testing works and how to read the paperwork.

  • How do you read a peptide certificate of analysis (COA)?

A peptide COA is a laboratory report on one lot. Check five things: the lot number matches your vial, mass spectrometry confirms the molecule, HPLC reports purity, a content result gives the milligrams present, and an independent lab issued and signed it. A COA missing any of these is incomplete.

  • How does independent third-party peptide testing work?

Independent testing means a vial is sampled and sent to an outside laboratory with no stake in the result. The lab runs HPLC and mass spectrometry, then issues a signed report with sample and lot numbers. In-house testing cannot be verified the same way, because the seller controls every step.

  • How is a peptide's identity confirmed: HPLC vs mass spectrometry?

Mass spectrometry confirms identity by measuring the molecule's mass and matching it to the expected peptide. HPLC measures purity, the share of peak area that is the main peptide. A sample can pass one and fail the other, so a certificate of analysis needs both, with the numbers shown.

  • Does 99% peptide purity mean the vial contains the right amount?

No. HPLC purity is the main peptide's share of peak area, so it ignores water, salts and counterions. Content, measured separately, tells you how much peptide is actually in the vial against the label claim. A 99% pure vial can still contain less peptide than labeled.

Sourcing and choosing

How to compare wholesale suppliers before the first order.

  • How do you find a reliable wholesale peptide supplier?

Look for lot-specific certificates from an independent lab, a verifiable company and address, stated minimums and pricing tiers, and documentation you can see before you pay. Avoid suppliers who send one generic COA, hide the testing lab, or give paperwork only after payment.

Building a brand

From first idea to a launched peptide brand.

  • How do you start a research peptide brand?

Form your business, pick your research-use model, source product you can document, build a store, and line up fulfillment. You can do each step yourself or hand it off. A done-for-you store goes live in 7 to 14 days, and wholesale product starts at one kit with no minimum.

  • What is the difference between white-label and private-label peptides?

White label puts your brand on a finished product the supplier already makes. Private label means a product built to your specification. White label is faster and starts small. Private label takes longer and suits a product only you sell. Ask either supplier which documents come with your order.

Fulfillment and dropshipping

How dropshipping and 3PL fulfillment work, and what to ask.

  • How does peptide dropshipping work?

Your customer orders from your store. Your dropship partner picks the vial from its own stock, applies your label, packs it and ships it, with tracking sent to your store. You hold no inventory, and your customer never sees the partner's name. With us, you pay per unit as orders ship.

  • How do you choose a fulfillment (3PL) partner for a peptide brand?

Ask first whether the 3PL accepts peptides at all, since some will not. Then check how it handles your labels and batch details, how certificates ship with orders, whether tracking reaches your store, what happens when it makes a mistake, and whether you can test before going live. Get every answer in writing.
